I have used Typora and iAWriter as an editor, but that displays my preference for markdown. I love that markdown in a plain text editor still looks good. (if you keep your formatting tidy) These days I do most of my markdown in Obsidian and index it in DevonThink.
Where DevonThink rocks it is it’s advanced file management features, search/discovery and it’s ability to handle so many types of files. It is a swiss army knife and I still learn stuff on how to use it every day. If DevonThink did not work so nicely with Obsidian, I would never consider it because whilst I could live without Obsidian, I could not live without DevonThink…
But this is the power of DevonThink and for me markdown works so well in this usecase.
